Moldovan education ministry says securing mechanisms allowed identifying education institutions where leaks of information took place

Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) has taken note, after photos with examination tests in mathematics and Romanian language (ninth form) and their settlement were published on a telegram channel. The pictures appeared during the holding of the examination, which runs counter the legislation. The competent ministry noted that the mechanisms of securing the examination tests allowed identifying the education institutions where the information leaks took place.    

In this case, a workplace investigation was instructed, with the materials submitted to the General Police Inspectorate.  

The regulation on the national examinations of graduating the gymnasium sees that ‘’the making of copies, photocopies or the taking over, in any form, of the information from the tests managed at the exams is not allowed.’’ At the same time, the publication of the subjects of the national examinations of graduation of gymnasium, as well as the solutions to them, till the beginning of the concerned examination or during its holding, is banned.       

The candidates who are caught copying or transmitting solutions for the settlement of problems are eliminated from the concerned exam and the test is cancelled through official report, with the mention ‘’cancelled test for fraud.’’ The cancelled test is not verified. The concerned candidates can repeatedly take the examination at the additional session.       

According to MEC, the people involved in the organization and carrying out of national examinations of gymnasium’s graduation, who do not observe the legal provisions, through the delivery of solutions to subjects, replacements or forgery of tests, changing of marks, allowing the copying or other ways of fraud, are sanctioned with the dismissal from office.   

The national examinations of gymnasium’s graduation are held on 3-13 June.
