Moldovan infrastructure minister says Vulcanesti residents to no longer have to bear noise of high-tonnage vehicles

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The works continue on the Vulcanesti bypass road, where roadmen put the road cloth of asphalt concrete, work to consolidate the footways and the system of evacuation of rain waters.     

Also, on the segments of the bypass road, workers construct the underground passage for the agricultural crossing and carry out art works at the new bridge.  

„The belt road will change the direction of the heavy transit traffic from the city and thus the Vulcanesti residents will no longer have to bear the noise made by the high-tonnage vehicles and the air’s pollution in the city will reduce. The road will shorten also the route to the port of ships from Giurgiulesti for carriers. The physical progress of the works on those 8.58 km is of 30 per cent. There are 45 roadmen on the construction site, who build a good, European road. We move forward, we edify the European Moldova together,’’ Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu said.    

The bypass road of the Vulcanesti city from south Moldova is the last segment which will complete the M3 road of Moldova, which will connect Chisinau with the cities of Cimislia, Comrat, Vulcanesti and Giurgiulesti and then with Romanian customs and the Galati city. The new MR 3 road, remodeled against the previous concept, will cross only five small settlements from Chisinau to Giurgiulesti and will bypass all the others and the bypassing of the Vulcanesti city is crucial.      

The overall length of the Vulcanesti bypass road is of 8.58 km and the cost of the works is of 21.2 million euros. The financing is covered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
