Parliament Secretariat employee suspended as suspect in criminal case

Chisinau, Aug 1 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Secretariat employee, suspect in a criminal case has been suspended from the post while the investigation by prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases is being conducted. The parliament's communication department has reported.

"The Parliament's leadership, jointly with the Parliament's Secretariat will provide all necessary support to law enforcement bodies in order to continue the investigations and elucidate the case," the press release reads.

According to the law, the person is presumed innocent until the completion of criminal proceedings.

Two employees of the Parliament and the Border Police were detained yesterday for 72 hours on suspicion of treason and conspiracy against the Republic of Moldova in their communication with an employee of an embassy in Chisinau.
