Edinet hospital's intensive care unit renovated, provided with modern equipment

Chisinau, Aug 1 /MOLDPRES/- Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit (ATI) of Edinet district hospital was renovated and equipped with modern equipment. At the same time, a primary stroke center was opened in the institution. The investments will allow the provision of quality medical services to the residents of Edinet district, as well as to patients from neighboring localities. Head of State Maia Sandu also attended the inauguration event, noting that citizens' health is a priority.
Maia Sandu said that investments in the health system will continue because the health of citizens is a priority for the authorities. "The amount of three billion lei invested in modernizing hospitals in the last two and a half years is significant. If you compare it with the experiences of previous decades, you won't find a period when so much was invested. Yes, more investment is needed and this is where we are working to mobilize internal and external resources. We are making investments all over the country. This helps us to save citizens' lives and we will continue these efforts," Maia Sandu said.
Health Minister Ala Nemerenco said that over the last two and a half years, Edinet hospital has benefited from major investments in repairs and equipment of 46 million lei. In total, 3 billion lei have been invested in medical institutions in the country during this period.
The cost of repairing the ward amounts to about 17 million lei, which was covered by a project supported by the World Bank, and the equipment was purchased from external partners or donated.
