DOC: Interior ministry, intelligence service to be able to block access to criminal web content

Chisinau, Aug 15 /MOLDPRES/- Promulgation decree and the law amending the law on preventing and combating cybercrime were published in today's issue of the Official Journal.

According to the document, the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MAI/ and the Intelligence and Security Service /SIS/ will have the power to order the termination of access to criminal web content. This will be done in compliance with the principles stipulated in the law.

Termination of access to a webpage containing information intended for and used in the preparation or commission of criminal offenses may be ordered for a period of 30 days, with the possibility of extension, but not exceeding 90 days.

The order to stop access to the website or to remove online content from its source may be challenged in court.
