Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) welcomes the efforts of the Washington authorities to sanction the attempts of undermining the democracy, of interference with the electoral process and external destabilizing interference.

MAE came up with a reaction to the announcement made by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on 13 September on the sanctioning of three entities and two private people who have connections with the actions of destabilization and involvement in the elections in Moldova.

„The USA’s public warning shows that the people sanctioned are involved not only in operations of external influence in the democratic processes, but also in actions which promote the war. Moldova’s institutions coped with the earlier challenges and will continue protecting the constitutional order and the democratic processes from our country,’’ MAE’s message also reads.

The U.S. Department of State announced sanctions against NO Evrazia and Nelli Alekseyevna Parutenko for the support provided to ‘’efforts of malign influence’’ of fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor, who is on the list of sanctions of the United States. The Embassy of the USA says that, under the leadership of Parutenko, ANO Evrazia implemented a plan of influencing the future elections in Moldova.

The Department of State of the USA also imposed sanctions against the state broadcasting agency, Rossiya Segodnya, the mother company of RT, of the organization associated to it, TV-Novosti, as well as against the director general of Rossiya Segodnya, Dmitry Konstantinovich Kiselev.
