Deputy premier's message at Moldova Partnership Platform

Chisinau, 17 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Moldova Partnership Platform remains crucial for the country in the process of guiding on the European path. Our objective is to transform the ad hoc approach into a strategic one for a long-term partnership that will guide the country on the path to the EU. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi made the statements at the opening of the 5th edition of Moldova Partnership Platform, held today in Chisinau.

The official said he is very happy to see so many devoted friends of Moldova. He noted that, thanks to the support of the partners, it was possible to provide support to citizens and offset energy bills.

"We managed to support Ukrainian citizens who fled the war and secure the state border. We have succeeded in combating cyber challenges. We also managed to strengthen the social resilience agenda. The platform is absolutely crucial to our continued development. This reflects European accession as the most important strategic goal of Moldova. The platform remains crucial for Moldova in the process of guiding it on the European path. Our objective is to transform the ad hoc approach into a strategic one for long-term partnership, which will guide Moldova on the path to the EU", said Mihai Popșoi.


The official noted that the platform has set up four working groups that are absolutely crucial in efforts to increase Moldova's resilience.

"The first group will be justice, anti-corruption and security, the second group - energy, energy efficiency and environment, the third group - economic, sustainable development and strategic infrastructure and the fourth - public administration reform and public finance management. The event aims to connect the Republic of Moldova with the European Union through various joint projects", said Popșoi.

The official also thanked the partners for their support. "Dear friends, we are very happy for your dedication and support so far. The discussions and collaborations that will take place today will further support this development. I trust that we will continue to build a European and prosperous future for the Republic of Moldova", he said.

The 5th edition of the Ministerial Conference of Moldova Partnership Platform is being held today in Chisinau. The event is attended by 65 delegations led by ministers, deputy ministers and state secretaries of the partner countries, representatives of the diplomatic staff and international organizations.

The first edition of the Ministerial Conference of Moldova Support Platform took place in Berlin, Germany, on April 5, 2022. The second edition took place in Bucharest, Romania, on July 15, 2022. The third edition of the Conference of took place in Paris, France on November 21, 2022. The next edition was held in Chisinau on October 17, 2023.
