Canada to provide $120 million in budget support to Moldova

Chisinau, Sep 20 /MOLDPRES/- Canada will provide support to Moldova worth 120 million Canadian dollars. MPs today ratified the loan facility agreement between the Moldovan Ministry of Finance and His Majesty King of Canada.

The money will be provided to finance the needs of the state budget and supplement the Supporting Growth and Resilience Development Policy Operation Project for Moldova.

The financial means will be used to strengthen household and refugee resilience, promote sustainable economic growth by enhancing competition and private sector-led growth, and support climate resilience and the transition to green energy.

The loan will be disbursed in two installments. The maturity of the loan is ten years, including a three-year grace period.

The agreement was signed on September 6, 2024.
