Moldovan electoral body sets order of registration in ballot for presidential elections

Chisinau, 25 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Central Electoral Commission (CEC) set out on September 25 the order of registration in the ballot of electoral competitors for the presidential elections of October 20, 2024. The ballot will include 11 candidates registered by the CEC.

Thus, the candidates will have the following order: Alexandr Stoianoglo, nominated by the Party of the Socialists of the Republic of Moldova; Maia Sandu, nominated by the Action and Solidarity Party; Renato Usatîi - Our Party political party; Vasile Tarlev - Party for Future of Moldova; Irina Vlah, nominated by the citizens' assembly; Ion Chicu - Moldova Development and Consolidation Party; Andrei Năstase, nominated by the citizens' assembly; Octavian Țîcu - TOGETHER Electoral Bloc; Victoria Furtuna; Tudor Ulianovschi; Natalia Morari, nominated by the citizens' assembly.

The head of the CEC's Communication, Public Relations and Media Department, Rodica Sîrbu, said that all candidates can carry out the electoral campaign under the conditions provided by law.

"Electoral contestants can organize meetings with voters and are free for electoral advertising. At the same time, the authorities are obliged to ensure the possibility of holding such meetings under equal terms and conditions. The electoral campaign ends on October 18, 2024, two days before the elections", said Sîrbu.

The CEC also approved the model and text of the ballot for the election. 

In the case of holding the runoff election, voting by mail will be done with ballots of the model used in the first round.
