Moldovan head of state has meeting with new UNDP resident representative in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with new Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Moldova Daniela Gasparikova. The head of state welcomed the UNDP representative in Moldova and wished her much success in exercising the mandate, the presidential press service has reported.
The discussion was focused on the support provided by UNDP for enhancing the capacity of the state institutions’ response to the current challenges. The Moldovan president also referred to the priorities of the governance for the country’s sustainable development and how UNDP might align its efforts to back them.
President Maia Sandu asked UNDP to continue its support for the carrying out of the government’s reforms, as well as to help implement the programme on afforestation and the National Programme on the studying of the Romanian language by the ethnic minorities.
The head of state appreciated the contribution brought by UNDP, during years, for the country’s transformation.
