Chisinau, Oct. 5 /MOLDPRES/- The country's leadership sent congratulatory messages today on International Day of Education.
President Maia Sandu sent a congratulatory message to teachers from the whole country.
Speaker Igor Grosu said that the teachers are the ones who guide entire generations, through the honorable mission they have. "We must do our best to ensure better conditions for teachers. Let's fight publicly for teachers and promote education and the honor of the teaching profession. Let's make the necessary changes, even if in some unpopular places, but certainly for the benefit of children and teachers. Thank you for everything you do!", Grosu said.
On this occasion, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun expressed gratitude for the significant effort that teachers make every day to educate the young generation. "Teacher's Day reminds us, year after year, how much appreciation you deserve. Your role is crucial when we discuss shaping the present and future of this country. Only together will we be able to build a prosperous, peaceful, solidary, free and strong society. Thank you for your dedication, patience and perseverance despite the difficulties facing our country's education system. I remain confident that you will manage to contribute to the development of the potential of our children, so that they become worthy citizens of the Republic of Moldova. The team of the Ministry of Education and Research will make every effort to support you along this path, which is not easy. Health, inspiration and creativity!", said Perciun.
International Day of Education, marked annually on October 5, was set up in 1994 by UNESCO. This marks the signing, in 1966, of the UNESCO/ILO (International Labor Organization) Recommendation on the status of teachers.
