Speaker: Moldova, Romania to join efforts in fight against disinformation and criminal groups aimed at destabilizing situation in region

Chisinau, July 5 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova and Romania will join efforts in the fight against disinformation and criminal groups aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region. Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement at a meeting with Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu.

"I was pleased to see Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu again in the Parliament and thanked her for the constant help to Moldova in officially launching the EU accession negotiations. All this time, the minister has supported our reform agenda both in Brussels and in relations with EU member states," Grosu said.

The Speaker noted that 2024 is an election year in the Republic of Moldova and Romania, "that is why we agreed to join our efforts in the fight against disinformation and criminal groups that aim to destabilize the situation in the region."

Odobescu participates in the Trilateral Moldova-Romania-Ukraine meeting, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event addresses a wide range of topics, from regional cooperation in the field of energy and the joint development of a modern and resilient transportation infrastructure to regional partnerships in the fight against disinformation.
