National Army received batch of thermal night vision devices from Lithuania

Chisinau, Aug 1 /MOLDPRES/- Lithuania has donated a batch of thermal night vision devices to the Moldovan National Army. Lithuanian National Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas made the statement at a joint press conference with Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii in Chisinau.
The two ministers discussed bilateral relations, defense achievements and Moldova's goal of joining the European Union.
The Lithuanian official emphasized that Lithuania will provide the Moldovan army with a batch of SPV drones by the end of the year. He assured that his country was and will always be a good friend of the Republic of Moldova.
The Lithuanian minister praised the reforms carried out by Chisinau authorities. He spoke about the efforts made to strengthen the defense sector in his country, including in the context of threats from the Russian Federation.
"We position Russia as an existential threat to Lithuania and the Baltic countries. That is why we need to have a strong army to be able to maintain peace," Laurynas Kasčiūnas said.
For his part, Anatolie Nosatii thanked Lithuania for supporting the National Army. He emphasized that the actions are in line with the cooperation plan signed in 2021.
"Our country is in the process of European integration - an area of peace and prosperity, and this means not only economic growth, but also the development of a modern defense sector. Thank you for joining us on this path. We want to strengthen our defense partnership, including through new projects. We count on Lithuania's support not only in the European path, but also in strengthening defense capabilities, ensuring peace and security in our region," he said.
From July 31 to August 1, Laurynas Kasčiūnas is paying an official visit to Chisinau at the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart, Anatolie Nosatîi.
This is the official's first visit to the Republic of Moldova.
