Moldovan, French officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, July 3. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu greeted Yaël Braun-Pivet, National Assembly President of France, the first head of the French legislature to visit our country, the presidential press service has reported.
"This visit by a group of French parliamentarians is yet another proof of the excellent relations we have been able to develop with the French Republic. I thanked the President for the openness and firmness with which the National Assembly of France supports the European path of our country, but also for the good cooperation between our states", said the Head of State.
Maia Sandu said that the French partners continue to be with us within the Moldova Support Platform in order to more quickly overcome the multiple challenges faced by our citizens.
"We discussed the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in fulfilling the nine recommendations of the European Commission and the 20 actions of the Government "Building a European Moldova", which will help our country to bring Europe to our home faster", the president said.
The head of state also appreciated the close collaboration with the French side and the help offered in organizing the summit of the European Political Community. "We are grateful for the support offered by France in obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession and we count on the same openness and in initiating the accession negotiations as soon as possible", Maia Sandu said.
