Moldova included in EU platform for managing grain crisis

Chisinau, July 5. /MOLDPRES/- Moldova has been included in the EU Platform for managing grain crisis, along with five member states of the European Union (Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia).
"Moldova was invited to be part of the platform and participate in the third meeting in the coming days. It is important that we undertake all the actions that will reduce the border crossing time for agricultural products, to improve the infrastructure at the crossing points, so that the transit of Ukrainian grains takes place in a fluid regime", Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and the Food Industry (MAIA) said.
The statement was made at yesterday's meeting between deputy prime minister and his counterparts from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia. The meeting aimed to discuss the planning of logistics routes from Moldova and Ukraine, starting from the condition of the railways in both countries and their capacity to transport grain intended for export to the EU.
Also yesterday, Vladimir Bolea together with the officials of the Baltic countries visited the Ukrainian ports, accompanied by relevant minister Mykola Solski. The mission of the delegation is to inspect the terminals in the port region and to discuss with the authorities in Kyiv, in order to facilitate the export of domestic agricultural goods and the coordinated transit of agricultural goods from Ukraine.
