Moldovan students won silver and bronze medals at International Physics Olympiad

Chisinau, July 17. /MOLDPRES/- Olympic team of the Republic of Moldova won one silver medal, two bronze medals and two honorable mentions at the International Physics Olympiad, in Tokyo, Japan.
The holder of the silver medal is Victor Vorona, a student of the "Orizont" Theoretical High School in Chisinau. The bronze medals went to Paisie Rusu, a student at the "Aristotel" Republican Theoretical High School in Chisinau, and Vadim Ionaș, a student at the "Orizont" Theoretical High School in Chisinau. The honorable mentions were won by Ștefan Amarfii, a student at the "Orizont" Theoretical High School in Chisinau and Darius Graur, a student at the "Mihai Eminescu" Theoretical High School in Balti.
387 students from 82 countries participated in the International Physics Olympiad. According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), the Republic of Moldova was represented by five students and two teachers.
The 53rd International Physics Olympiad was held in Tokyo, Japan on July 10-17.
