Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/ - MPs made amendments to the State Security Law today. It was supported by 54 deputies.
The legislative initiative belongs to deputies of Action and Solidarity Party faction Andrian Cheptonar, Ion Șpac and Roman Roșca. According to them, the legislative changes are necessary to avoid the inconsistency between the State Security Law and the Law on the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova (SIS), recently adopted by the Parliament.
Thus, it is proposed that in Article 4 of the State Security Law, the actions that present a particular danger to the security of the country are expressly provided for. Among them are the usurpation of state power, the violent change of the constitutional arrangement, threats or cyber incidents, influencing the electoral processes in order to promote their own interests by foreign states, unconstitutional entities or organized crime, treason, creation of illegal organizations or groups etc.
Previously, the Parliament has passed a package of laws aimed at the work of the Intelligence and Security Service.
