Moldovan Customs Service collects more than 656 million lei in state budget during one week

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service collected more than 656.3 million lei (about 32.8 million euros) in the state budget on the period 14-20 August 2023.   

In this time interval, private people brought in Moldova assets, the value of which in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit; thus, payments worth over 29.4 million lei were collected, which accounts for 4.5 per cent of all sum. The money collected from tax payers is transferred directly to the state budget and redistributed for salaries, developing the infrastructure, social projects.   

At the same time, 11,881 customs declarations were processed last week and the flow of transport means represented 102,204 crossings. The most transited customs checkpoints stay Leuseni and Sculeni, with 26,540 and, respectively, 18,249 crossings.    

As for the combating of frauds, on the concerned period, decision-makers found out 67 infringements of the customs legislation and fines worth over 180,000 lei were imposed.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 21 billion lei to the state budget, which is by 2.6 per cent more against the same period of 2022.
