Lyceum from north Moldova town undergoes energy optimization with EU's support

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - An energy optimization project backed by the European Union will be carried out at the Alexei Mateevici theoretical lyceum from the northern Soldanesti town will the end of this year.
The project sees the rehabilitation of five blocks of buildings and comprises also other energy efficiency works and solutions.
The value of the construction contract is of over 26 million lei (1.3 million euros), of which almost 25 million lei will be provided by the European Union through the German Agency for International Cooperation, while the rest is the contribution due to be provided by the Soldanesti district council. ‘’The period of carrying out the works is planned to expire on 15 December 2023,’’ according to the Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru).
The investment measure, Enhancement of the energy efficiency of the Alexei Mateevici theoretical lyceum from the Soldanesti town, is financed by the European Union, in cooperation within the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova. This project is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation, in partnership with the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry and is financially supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. ‘’Due to it, 71 employees and about 600 pupils of the institution will benefit from better conditions of work and education and the annual normed consumption of energy at the lyceum will be considerably reduced,’’ ADR Centru said.
