PM in Ungheni says Moldova moves in quite clear direction of European integration

Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ - The western Ungheni city has marked its 561st anniversary of the first documentary mention through a string of events. Attending the anniversary were Prime Minister Dorin Recean, representatives of the diplomatic corps, twin cities, residents and guests of the Ungheni municipality, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.  

PM Dorin Recean visited a fair of popular craftsmen and of local products, which brought together artisans from all over Moldova. The prime minister, along with the Ungheni mayor, Alexandru Ambros, and the holiday’s guests met a column of 2,000 people, made up of employees of public institutions, economic agents and artistic bands, who assembled on the Independence Square within the traditional suite of the Ungheni residents.    

In a speech given to the people present at the event, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the Ungheni city was one of the most dynamic and developed cities of Moldova, which benefits from its geographical position, in order to carry out numerous projects for the benefit of the people from the region. The city attracted national and external funds for the renovation of its principal street, modernization of car parks, sorting of waste, asphalting roads and sidewalks, bicycle lanes, construction of the aqueduct and sewerage system.    

„You are the western gate and the entire country moves in the quite clear direction of European integration, with you. We spread together this spirit among all citizens of our country. You are the example of a visionary community, which edifies a prosperous and European future,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.     

The events dedicated to the day of the Ungheni municipality will continue till 31 August and will end with a recital titled, Romanian Language – spring of immortality in the Small Cluj Park.
