Soldiers of 19th contingent of National Army deployed to KFOR completed mission in Kosovo

Chisinau, Feb. 5 /MOLDPRES/- Soldiers of the 19th contingent of the National Army, deployed to KFOR peacekeeping operation have completed their mission in Kosovo. On this occasion, a ceremony was organized in Military Camp 142, attended by the army leadership.
In his congratulatory message, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi highly appreciated the professionalism of the Moldovan contingent in the area of responsibility within the Western Regional Command. A group of peacekeepers were awarded diplomas and medals of the National Army for their excellent performance during the mandate.
For six months, the 41 soldiers performed guarding and defense missions of strategically important infrastructure objectives, missions to ensure the security of the Camp Vilaggio Italia base, including the Visoki Dečani Monastery, as well as intelligence and detection missions of explosive objects in the area of responsibility.
Moldovan peacekeepers have been participating in the KFOR peacekeeping mission since 2014.
