EU to provide Moldova with assistance for reforming justice

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ - The European Union will provide Moldova with financial assistance for the reformation of justice. The members of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration have approved a notification for the negotiation and signing of an Agreement between Moldova and EU on Moldova’s participation in the Justice Programme.
The document’s goal is to consolidate, stimulate and extend the cooperation relations in the justice sector between Moldova and the European Union.
The Justice Programme provides financing for the training of judges and other practitioners in the law field. The programme is meant for the national authorities who might apply for projects in the field of justice reform, as well as to civil society’s organizations.
For the period 2021 – 2027, the Justice Programme has a financing worth 305 million euros. At the same time, over 40 million euros of all sum is meant for financing projects in 2024.
