Heroes of the Internet Programme, developed by Google, launched in Moldova too

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Heroes of the Internet Programme, developed by Google, has been launched in Moldova as well, in the context of marking today the Safer Internet Day. Within the programme, children and young people are taught to explore the Internet in safety and with confidence.
The Heroes of the Internet support teachers in the implementation of an education programme on the online safety, by providing digital lessons and interactive activities which can be used in teaching. Additionally, the Programme includes a guide for families, which encourage the dialogue and the common learning between parents and children about the safety on Internet. In the next three years, more teachers will participate in trainings, so that subsequently they educate the pupils in the spirit of a responsible and safer use of the Internet.
According to the Education and Research Ministry, the programme is free of charge and is implemented by the Adfaber Association, with the support of the La Strada Moldova International Centre.
The programme backed by Google is held simultaneously in more European countries, including Romania, Greece, Croatia, Lithuania, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and is to be extended in Ukraine and Latvia as well. The programme is structured in five chapters with activities and scenarios of work in classroom.
