Moldovans working in Cyprus or Slovakia to have pensions

Chisinau, Feb. 7 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan citizens working in the Republic of Cyprus or the Slovak Republic will have pensions or other social benefits. Members of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration approved opinions to start two agreements in this regard.
Employees, self-employed workers, seconded workers, staff of diplomatic missions or consular posts will benefit from the agreements. They will receive old-age pensions, disability pensions caused by general ailments, pensions and disability allowances following accidents at work or caused by occupational diseases and survivor's pensions. Each contracted state will pay the part of the pension calculated in proportion to the insurance period in own territory.
According to the data of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, so far, Moldova has concluded 17 bilateral agreements in the social security with the following countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania, Luxembourg, Estonia, Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Germany, Turkey, Belarus, Italy (to come into force), Greece, Spain (to come into force).
