Moldovan president awards People's Artists distinction to piano player Alexander Palei

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today handed the People’s Artist distinction to the most famous piano player born in Moldova, Alexander Palei, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state reminds that, during his career, Alexander Palei has had recitals on the most famous stages of the world, both in the United States and in the EU, China, Russia, South Africa and other countries. The artist cooperated as conductor with symphony orchestras of more European countries and American states. Alexander Palei is also the founder of several international festivals of classical music.
„I am happy that, having an international career of great success, the artist remains attached to Moldova, the place where he was born and where he was educated from the musical viewpoint and he remained, during years, a promoter of the music by Moldovan composers. Although he settled in the USA in 1991, the piano player has often returned to our country, where he gave recitals and concerts for local students and people fond of music, not only in Chisinau, but also in other cities of the country,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
