Germany to support reform of public administration, public money in Moldova

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - A new project on technical cooperation, focused on the support of the public administration from Moldova, today was launched with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project titled, Attractive and efficient public administration in Moldova, with an overall value of 6 million euros and a duration of 3 years, will be implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), along with Moldova’s State Chancellery and Finance Ministry, the government’s communication department reported.
„The project is quite important for Moldova and provides a huge assistance for the State Chancellery and the Finance Ministry, which are the programme’s beneficiaries. We are grateful to the government of Germany and the GIZ team for the support they provide us in the fulfillment of the goals set,’’ the state secretary of the government, Ana Calinici, said at the event on the initiative’s launch.
The project’s goal is to improve the citizens’ accessibility to the administrative services and to implement modern practices of human resources’ management within the public administration, by promoting, at the same time, the sustainable and transparent management of the public money. Another important aspect is the promotion of the exchange of expertise between the State Chancellery, the Finance Ministry, the subordinated authorities and their counterparts from the European Union and the countries going to join EU.
The project is also aligned with the priorities of the public administration’s reform strategy and the action plan for the implementation of the recommendations from the SIGMA report of monitoring Moldova’s performance in the public administration, in relation with the public administration’s principles.
