Chisinau, July 6 /MOLDPRES/- Customs Service has announced that the first two transit operations under the New Computerized Transit System, NCTS5-MD, have taken place. Thus, following the launch of this new system at the national level, as of July 1, 2024, two economic operators have migrated to the new computerized transit system with the submission of transit declarations according to the data requirements aligned with the EU legislation and the requirements of the Convention on a common transit procedure.

The implementation of the NCTS5-MD is an important step for the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the Convention on a common transit procedure. This modernized customs transit system allows a more efficient and transparent management of the flow of goods transiting the territory of the country, thus reducing the waiting time at the border and the related costs for economic operators, allows rapid and secure exchange of information between customs authorities and economic operators, ensuring a continuous and accurate monitoring of transit operations.

The new system is used for: transit operations at national level and for common transit operations after the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the Convention on a common transit procedure, concluded in 1987.

Thus, economic operators carrying out transit operations are to migrate on a voluntary basis from the ASYCUDA World system to the NCTS5-MD within a period of three months, in accordance with the Customs Service Order.

In this context, the Customs Service urges and encourages all economic operators, holders of the transit procedure, to initiate the actions to migrate to the New Computerized Transit System in order to successfully complete the transition period and to ensure the successful use of the system by all economic operators.
