State of Kuwait interested in importing agricultural products from Moldova, in particular livestock sector

Chisinau, Aug 22 /MOLDPRES/- Kuwait is interested in importing agricultural products from Moldova, especially sheep and livestock products. This was discussed today during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea and Talal Mansour Alhajeri, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Romania, accredited to Moldova, in the context of the end of his diplomatic mission.

During the talks, Talal Mansour Alhajeri emphasized that the Moldovan agricultural sector offers great opportunities for long-term trade partnerships.

Bolea noted that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry pays special attention to the development of the livestock sector, considering it an essential pillar for economic growth and exports, therefore, such cooperation would be beneficial for sheep breeders. The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the Republic of Moldova is interested in establishing and strengthening trade relations with the State of Kuwait in areas of common interest. He expressed his desire to broaden and deepen bilateral relations, harnessing the full economic and diplomatic potential between the two countries to create lasting mutual benefits.

According to the National Statistics Bureau, in 2022 the export of goods to the State of Kuwait amounted to 133,78 thousand US dollars, the volume of imported goods amounted to 10,42 thousand US dollars. For 2023, the Moldovan export to Kuwait amounted to 176,59 thousand US dollars, the volume of imported goods amounted to 10,92 thousand US dollars.
