Moldovan speaker approached parliamentary agenda with European officials

Chisinau, July 5. /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had meetings with European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi and European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira in Brussels. The discussions focused on the parliamentary agenda and the reforms initiated by the Moldovan authorities, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Grosu approached Moldova's priorities for 2023, pointing out that one of them is the initiation of negotiations on accession to the EU. "We are currently implementing the recommendations of the European Commission and transposing the European legislation at an accelerated pace, and the support of the EU in this process is important," he said.
He thanked for the support offered by the European partners over time: "With certainty, together with strong partners, we will build a European Moldova".
On July 3-5, Grosu paid an official visit to Brussels. He met with the leadership of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium. The visit's agenda also included meetings with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, NATO Deputy General Secretary Mircea Geoană, as well as with several MEPs. Also, the speaker met with a group of Moldovan citizens residing in Belgium.
