DOC Moldovan president awards state distinctions to more teachers on World Teachers' Day

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has awarded state distinctions to more teachers on the occasion of the World Teachers’ Day.
Under the presidential decree, the distinctions were awarded for prodigious activity in the education sector, correctness and professionalism, for the implementation of the education policies and special merits in the education of the young generation.
Thus, the Order of Honour was awarded to PhD, Rector of the Moldovan Technical University (UTM) Viorel Bostan, a teacher of physical education at the auxiliary school No 6, Chisinau municipality, Alexandra Danilenco, and the former headmaster of the Princess Natalia Dadiani Public Institution Theoretical Lyceum from Chisinau, Ana Gheorghita.
At the same time, 17 employees in the education field received the Civic Merit medal, a teacher – the Mihai Eminescu Medal, another four employees in the education sector received the honorific title, Master in Art, and a researcher was awarded the Merited Man honorific title.
The present decree entered into force on the date its signing.
The World Teachers’ Day is marked on 5 October. It was established by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994. On the occasion of the holiday, the Moldovan leadership conveyed congratulatory messages to the teachers from all over the country.
